Visit 5th Floor Special Research Collections
Information
The 5th floor of the Bizzell Memorial Library is dedicated to our 5th Floor Special Research Collections. To visit, use the center elevators or stairs (closest to the Loveridge Computer Lab) to the 5th floor. You will enter into the foyer where there are couches, collection displays, and the Research Desk. There is a small reading nook where you can browse select works and topical display items.
If you have an appointment with a librarian, you will be shown into the Consultation room, or if you've made an appointment to view rare books or other collection items, you will be able to use those items in the reading room.
Resources and Services Available
- Our team is happy to help with any questions you have about the 5th Floor and the collection items in the space. Make an appointment or walk in to check out the space.
- Access to the materials held in the 5th Floor Special Collections is provided through the Reading Room on the 5th floor of Bizzell Memorial Library. Walk-ins are welcome to come see our spaces, but we encourage scheduling an appointment to request materials for viewing. Some items require 24–48 hours of notice.
- We host class visits to the 5th floor Special Collections from OU academic departments and other local universities.These class visits require advance notice and prior consultation with our curators. If you’d like to set up an initial consultation, please contact Dr. JoAnn Palmeri.
