OK-Share Library Card System Policy
The OK-Share Library Card System allows system-wide reciprocal borrowing privileges among participating institutions of higher education in Oklahoma. Each OK-Share institution sets its own lending policy. The types of materials available, the length of loan time, and renewal limits will vary from institution to institution. This policy provides guidelines for participating in the OK-Share Library Card Program. For a list of participating libraries, visit the OK-Share Participating Libraries website.

Get Your Card
To get your OK-Share card from OU, present your OU ID at the Circulation Desk at Bizzell Memorial Library.
Borrow Materials from Other Institutions
You must present your OK-Share card, along with your OU ID or driver's license, when borrowing materials from a participating library. Lending policies vary by institution, so be sure to ask about the library’s lending policy when checking out materials.
Return Materials
Return borrowed items to the lending library by the due date. If you cannot return items directly to the lending library, you can bring them to Bizzell Memorial Library, and we will return them for you. You must allow us at least one week before the due date to return the items to the lending library to avoid an overdue fine. You are responsible for any fines incurred at lending libraries.
Borrowers from Other OK-Share Institutions

- The loan period is 30 days with five renewals allowed.
- You must renew your OK-Share card annually.
- This policy does not apply to the OU Law Library.
- We do not provide OK-Share participants with off-campus access to databases. You may apply for a temporary guest ID to use the databases on computer workstations inside Bizzell Memorial Library.
Return OU Libraries' Materials
Return borrowed OU Libraries' items to Bizzell Memorial Library by the due date. If you are unable to return items directly to Bizzell, you can return them to the Interlibrary Loan department at your home institution, and they will be sent back for you. You are responsible for the books until they are returned to us. Please allow adequate time for your library to return the items before the due date. Additionally, be aware that libraries may limit returns during busy mailing times.
