Overview
Research and Academic Success furthers OU Libraries' mission by providing an excellent user experience and promoting all aspects of scholarly communication. This process involves scholars at every level—undergraduates through faculty—learning, creating, and sharing their knowledge with the academic community and the wider public. The division also handles the technical processes necessary for preserving scholarly resources and making them accessible to the academic community and beyond.
About This Division
It comprises four departments, each offering expertise in the following areas:
- Acquisitions - acquires and processes payments for materials selected for the Libraries’ collections in all formats and maintains access to electronic resources
- Description and Access - processes and makes accessible print and electronic materials via Discover Local
- Library Instruction and Liaison Services - library instruction taught by subject librarians covering basic library research methods to more advanced or specific discipline areas
- Storage and Delivery - shelves and stores library materials in OU Libraries’ facilities, on-campus and in remote locations, as well as overseeing interlibrary loan and on-campus document delivery services
