Architecture Librarian and Archivist
The Architecture Librarian and Archivist serves as a library liaison to multiple departments, divisions, and programs in the Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture at the University of Oklahoma, including but not limited to Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Construction Science, Regional and City Planning, Environmental Design, and Urban Design, as well as the Institute for Quality Communities. The position develops relationships with these departments to promote library resources and services to their students, faculty, and staff, including reference assistance, bibliographic searching, library guide development, library instruction, collection development, and other departmental needs. Additionally, the position provides public services for the University Libraries’ collection of architectural archives, including the American School of Architecture Archives, serving the students and faculty of the Gibbs College as well as the general public. The position supports the use and development of the archives by providing reference and research services, consultation services, archives instruction, and outreach services, and by contributing to collection development and description. Project Archivist for Architectural Records Digitization
The Project Archivist for Architectural Records Digitization is a term-appointed, 1-year project position at the University of Oklahoma Libraries that will focus on preparing architectural records of significant cultural, historical, and research value to be digitized and made openly accessible online via OU Libraries’ digital collections repository. The Project Archivist’s work will focus specifically on archival collections in the American School Archive at OU Libraries, an archival collecting area that documents the imaginative school of architectural design and practice that developed under the guidance of pioneering architects Bruce Goff, Herb Greene, and others at the University of Oklahoma in the 1950s and 1960s. Based on established criteria and priorities, this position will make informed selections of archival collection items from fully processed collections to be digitized and published online, documenting these decisions in project spreadsheets. The Project Archivist will work with archival materials including physical architectural drawings, print publications, paper records, and photographic prints, negatives, and slides. Institutional Repository Librarian
The University of Oklahoma (OU) Libraries seeks an innovative, collaborative, and highly motivated individual to serve as OU’s Institutional Repository Librarian of SHAREOK™, the joint institutional repository for OU and the University of Central Oklahoma. SHAREOK™ is hosted on DSpace, a free, open-source software system by OU Libraries, and it currently contains more than 40,000 items, encompassing faculty and staff publications, student works, and open educational resources. This position develops, implements, and assesses policies, workflows, and documentation to streamline the mediated deposit of faculty, staff, and student scholarship in SHAREOK™ and improve the user experience, in collaboration with colleagues. Reporting to the Director of Open Initiatives and Scholarly Communication within OU Libraries, the Institutional Repository Librarian will be integral to increasing awareness and uptake of SHAREOK™ in support of the OU-Norman Open Access policy, thereby broadening access to the research output of OU. Interlibrary Loan Lending Assistant
Reporting to the Interlibrary Loan Manager, the Interlibrary Loan Lending Assistant is a staff position in the Interlibrary Loan & Document Delivery Unit of the Storage and Delivery department of University Libraries. The incumbent performs clerical and technical duties and is responsible for day-to-day operations of interlibrary loan lending including processing of requests and renewals; assisting library users; overseeing the work of student employees in collaboration with other unit staff; and working collaboratively with other library departments, branch libraries, special collections and borrowing institutions worldwide.
