Youngblood Energy Library
Information
The Youngblood Energy Library (also known as the geology or the engineering library) serves the students, faculty, and staff of the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy, the Gallogly College of Engineering, and the Oklahoma Geological Survey. The current collection contains more than 120,000 map sheets and approximately 100,000 cataloged volumes on the subjects of geochemistry, geology, geomorphology, geophysics, hydrology, mineralogy, paleontology, petroleum engineering, petroleum geology, stratigraphy, tectonics, computer science, environmental science, as well as aerospace, biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, environmental, industrial, and mechanical engineering. The library is named after Laurence Snow Youngblood, a native of Wewoka, Oklahoma, former president of the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum Association, and loyal supporter of the University of Oklahoma.

Anyone may use the materials within the Library. Circulation is limited to University of Oklahoma students, faculty, and staff who have valid user IDs. Residents within Cleveland and Oklahoma Counties may apply for a borrower's permit valid only in this campus Library. Requests to borrow materials via Interlibrary Loan can be made to the library you normally use. Speak with your public, corporate, academic, or school librarian to arrange to borrow materials from us or other libraries.
Materials from this library and other campus libraries, as well as personal copies, rock and mineral samples, and videos may be placed on reserve for classes. This service is most effective for classes or other groups that meet in the Sarkeys Energy Center.
